Speakers

Dr. Jay Smith

Jay Smith, the son of missionaries who were in India until their deaths, has been working with Muslims for over 40 years while serving with his wife, Judith, and until recently, spending 25 of those years in London, England. Jay currently spends most of his time travelling to numerous countries to research, write, and teach Christian/Muslim Apologetics and Polemics, much of which he learned from 25 years of weekly forays to the world-famous Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park, London. He has been invited to many university campuses to teach classes, participate in panels, help numerous Christian Unions with training, and has also participated in over 100 formal debates with Muslim polemicists. Smith is the director of the Master of Arts in Apologetics and Polemics to Islam at the Veritas International University in Albuquerque, New Mexico.


Dr. Fred Farrokh

Rev. Dr. Fred Farrokh is an International Trainer with Global Initiative: Reaching Muslim Peoples. He is an Ordained Missionary with Elim Fellowship. Before joining Global Initiative, Fred served as Executive Director of Jesus For Muslims Network in Metro New York, and Special Projects Officer with SAT-7 in Cyprus. A Christian of Muslim-background, he completed his PhD in Intercultural Studies through Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in 2014, with a dissertation on Muslim Identity. He has hosted a program for Muslim Background Believers called "Wasla" (https://www.youtube.com/@WaslaMedia).

Engaging Islam is a conference for learning proven tools to engage with your Muslim friends and neighbors through experienced practitioners, scholars, and workers. Whether you are new to the area of engaging with this community, or are an experienced worker, be equipped and experience more of God's heart during these few days.
